Immortalised

This "Teddy Bear Bee" was unfortunately found dead. He was so beautiful and I find it very sad when I find any small creatures dead. I wanted to take a lovely picture of him and whilst a lot of macro photographers put live creatures in the freezer in order to slow them down and photograph them, I couldn't do this. Although being that he had already passed, I could photograph him.

I brought him inside at night, went thieving in the neighbours garden for some some leaves and flowers and tried to simulate some outside sun light. He is now forever immortalised and he's just the cutest thing! He is in my freezer as I can't bring myself to throw him in the bin, I may bury him later, don't hate on my love *embarrassed face*

Teddy Bear bees are native bees that live in burrows in the ground. They are unfortunately stalked by the Domino Cuckoo bee who watch the Teddy Bear enter their nests. The Teddy Bear bee leaves a pollen ball and nectar in their cells and lay an egg but the Domino Cuckoo bee comes and lays it's egg in the nest so that it's young can eat the food of the other. Enjoy your baw, I didn't.
